Carolyn Gay Griffin

Carolyn Gay Griffin, 85, of Akron, passed away on February 4, 2024 at Village of St. Edward. She was born in Cleveland on April 20, 1938 to the late Casper L. Dean and Dorothy M. {Ward} Dean.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Bryan in 2019, their son Bryan Jr. in 2017, and siblings Shirley L. Dean, Donna M. Dean, Casper L. Dean Jr., twin sister Carol R. Dean, Dianne Dean and Edward R. Dean.

Carolyn is survived by her loving son, Kenneth E. Griffin; grandson Joseph Griffin; step-granddaughters Ane and Rayghen; several nieces and nephews.

Carolyn was a devoted mother and grandmother. She had a caregiver's heart, and loved to babysit her grandson Joseph and care for her son Bryan's medical needs. Carolyn loved to play cards, especially Hand & Foot, and could play a tune on the piano by ear.
