Carolyn J. Peckens

Carolyn J. "Carol" Peckens, 89, went home to be with Jesus on January 18, 2022. She was born in Elkins, WV to Reveley and Genevieve (Taylor) Triplett. Her parents moved her to the Akron, Ohio area at 8 years old. She got married and attended the Cathedral of Tomorrow, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She was a model for Marshalls Department Store. Later she took busses to Benny Hinn. She was a wonderful mother and will be greatly missed.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Peckens and daughter in law Annette, Carol is survived by her brother, Douglas Triplett and children, Cherie Wimer Martin, William Wimer, Richard Zenner, Nick Roscoe; grandchildren; Christie, David, Lisa, Keri, Theresa, Rachel, Rick, Tara, Kerri, Tiffany, Joe; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great grandsons.

Family and friends are invited to visit Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. A private interment will take place Monday at East Liberty Cemetery.
