Carrie M. Mingo

Carrie M. Mingo-Gaines, born April 9, 1959 in Akron, Ohio, passed peacefully at home on February 28, 2019, at the age of 59. Carrie recently received an Associates of Business Degree. Carrie enjoyed helping others and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, William Mingo and Geraldine Springfield, her brother Willie Mingo, sister Bertha Fields, daughter Caraletta Mingo, step brothers Henry Springfield, Jr. and Tommy Springfield.

Survivors include her husband, William Gaines; step-father, Henry Springfield; daughter, Leonna (Earl) Kidd; son, Delvon (Dominique) Mingo; sisters, Denise Mingo, Sandra Johnson, Bernice Christian; brothers, Charles Mingo, Edward Mingo, Eugene Mingo, James Mingo; grandchildren, Joseph Kidd, Ebony Kidd, Angel Kidd, Dometrius Mingo, Dominique Mingo, Tayler Mingo, LeiLani Mingo; nieces and nephews, Kyle Taylor, Brittany Mingo, Takesha Mingo, Sandy Mingo, Drexa English, Mignon Bracy, Felecia Jackson, Charlene DeJournett, David Fields, Celestine Lee, Wanda Coleman, Kevin Lee, Brenda Christian, Cynthia Christian, Bobby Christian, Donna Christian, Herdy Christian, Gino Mingo, Mary Mingo, Kenny Mingo, Mattie Tolbert, Norman Fields, Larry Mingo, Ramona Mingo, Tony Mingo, Shendra Johnson, and Latoria Johnson; close friend, Lisa Little and many other family and friends.

Visitation for Carrie and her granddaughter, LeiLani will take place on Wednesday March 6, 2019 from 10am until 11am at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A memorial service for both will take place at 11am. A celebration of her life will follow at Ed Davis Community Center, 730 Perkins Park Dr., Akron Ohio 44320.
