Carroll Vondea Candle, 89, of Akron, Ohio joined her loved ones in heaven on December 27, 2020. Carroll was born in Charleston, West Virginia on November 7, 1931. She was a loyal member of New Horizons Christian Church for over 60 years. She served her church as Sunday School superintendent, choir member, bell choir and the children's choir and bell director. Carroll was a member of the Circle of Life and enjoyed leading the charge in their buckeye making endeavor to benefit the church. She also was the director of the local BJ singers (a group of women that sang at nursing homes and other events) for 50 years. Carroll also enjoyed her over 45 years of volunteering at Summa Hospital. She is a true Christian and a loving mother and grandmother.
Preceded in death by parents; loving husband, Richard; brother, Dana Duff; sister, Loretta Dinkleman; grandchildren; Michelle Candle, Bethany Candle. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, sons and daughters in-law, Mark (Bonnie), Kirk (Debbie), Craig (Paula), Scott; brothers, Rex and Mike Duff; sister in-law, Helen Duff; 11 loving grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson.
The family would like to thank granddaughter, Holly Candle and all of the aides who helped Carroll this past year.
Calling hours will be held at New Horizons Christian Church, 290 Darrow Rd., Akron on January 16, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon with a family service to follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Jim Bane officiating. Masks are required with social distancing expected. If you're uncomfortable attending the family understands and your thoughts and prayers will be felt. Safety is of utmost importance! In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Carroll's name may be made to the church.
