Catherine M. Black, "Cathy", age 83 of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, died on May 24, 2023 at her home.
She was born on March 30, 1940 in Akron, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Wise Sr.
Cathy was the loving wife of the late Lester Joseph Black, whom she married on November 29, 1958, he preceded her on September 17, 1995; and her siblings, David Wise and Judith Wiant.
Survivors include her loving children, Joseph (Carolyn) Black, Sandra (Michael) Moore, Lawrence (Heidi) Black and Beth Black; her nine grandchildren, Matthew (Tina) Black, Michael (Jessica) Black, Logan Black, Kelli (Jason) Kollman, Maria (Matt) Lockwood, Bryon Black, Karla Black, Ian (Abbey) Black and Luke (Hailee) Black; and nine great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kaelyn, Addy, Payton, Nicholas, Chase, Josie, Wynne and Georgia.
Also surviving is Cathy's brother, Charles Wise Jr.; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends mourn her loss.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and created a safe environment for her family. Cathy loved to cook, bake, sew, craft and listen to country music. Catherine was also a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Cuyahoga Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44305, where Rev. McCurdy will celebrate Cathy's life.
Family and friends may visit from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Catherine will be laid to rest next to her husband in Crown Hill Cemetery, Twinsburg, Ohio.
