Catherine Evelyn Walker (Tyson)
Catherine Evelyn Walker (Tyson), 93, of Akron, passed away April 27, 2006 at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital. She was born July 11, 1912 in Defiance, Ohio to the late Harry & Beatrice Tyson. Catherine was a member of Firestone Park United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Eastern Star Victoria Chapter #31 and was formerly employed by Stow City Schools. She was a caregiver to many but especially to her only granddaughter, Kim from the time of her birth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Walker; daughter, Karolyn Boring; and 5 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her granddaughter, Kim (Robert "Bubba") Rafferty; son-in-law, Paul Boring; great grandchildren Kaitlyn and McKenna Rafferty; sisters-in-law, Lib Tyson and Rosie Livingston; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. with Rev. Max R. T. Beery officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
