Catherine I. Goodrich

Catherine I. Goodrich, 81, of Akron, went to be with the Lord on November 24, 2004. She was born July 22, 1923 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late James A. & Nita (Satterfield) Ely. Catherine was a 1941 graduate of Springfield High School and an active life member of Sawyerwood United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, William J. Goodrich; brother, Alvis Ely; and sister, Irene Hitt. She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Bill) Rankine, Sandra (John) Miller and Debra (David) Murphy all of Akron; son, Bill (Maria) Goodrich of Akron; grandchildren, Chuck, Brian, Brad, Stephanie, Karla and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Avery; brother, Kyle Ely of Akron; sister-in-law, Lee Ely; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. with Rev. James Jensen officiating. Calling hours will be from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the service begins. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Sawyerwood United Methodist Church, 956 Mohawk Trail, Akron OH 44312.
