Catherine Denise Kurtz

Catherine Denise Kurtz, 59, passed away on July 14, 2017. She was born in Akron on April 11, 1958. Cathy was employed as the Food Services Manager at Kent State University for 29 years. She was a member of both the Mogadore Moose and the Mogadore VFW. She had a wonderful personality and loved being with her family and friends.
Cathy will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Larry Kurtz; son and daughter-in-law, Ko and Jamie Jacobs; daughter, Jennifer Cuppett; parents, Bud and Cathy Cole, Roy and Sheila Brumley; brothers, Richard Shackelford (Stephanie Brophy) and Roy (Lynn) Brumley; seven grandchildren; best friends, Dennis and Denise Somerville; beloved dogs, Teddy and Star; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 from 11 am - 2 pm and 5 pm - 8 pm at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where funeral services will take place on Thursday at 1:00 pm with Rev. Dwayne Ray officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
