Catherine M. Gooden, 84, passed away on December 31, 2009. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church and also attended Crossroads Church. Catherine was active in the Women's Missionary Society and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold. Survivors include her son, Edward (Debbie); daughters, Linda (Jim) Wilson, Debby (Jim) Smith, and Pam (Ken) Groat; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and dear friends Lois and Ray Miller. Special thanks to the entire staff of Arden Courts and Crossroads Hospice for their love and care for Catherine. Calling hours will be Monday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
