Catherine M. Radu, "Kay", age 97, of Akron, Ohio, died on July 5, 2017 at Summit Villa.
She was born on November 11, 1919 in Clymer, PA, the daughter of the late Emary and Teresa Surry Paul.
Catherine was a graduate of East High School. She was a sales clerk for Forest City Materials. Kay enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, playing bingo and cards.
Survivors include her two children, Paul Radu and his wife, Lorrie of Astoria, Oregon, and Yvonne M. Radu and her companion, Jonathan Williamson of Akron; her three grandchildren, Katie Hellberg, Lindsay Radu, and Danielle Williamson; and two great-grandchildren, Paul and Joey Hellberg.
Other than her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Radu on November 19, 1985; and two sisters, Teresa Selega and Ann Dobbins.
A funeral Mass will be held at Visitation of Mary Catholic Church, (formerly Annunciation Catholic Church), 55 Broad Street, Akron, Ohio 44305 on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM, where Father Jonathan Zingales will celebrate Catherine's life.
Mrs. Radu will be buried next to her husband at Glendale Cemetery in Akron.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Newcomer Funeral Home, Akron.
