Cecil James "Jim" Fish Jr., age 77 of Homosassa, FL passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022 in Cleveland, OH. He was born on May 28, 1945, a son of the late Cecil Sr. and Anna {Harrison} Fish.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son Kenneth James Fish and brother Charles "Fred" Fish.
Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Karen; daughter Lori (Don) Knisley; sons James Fish and Jason (Kathy) Fish; grandchildren Kristina (Aaron) Liles, James E. Fish, Logan, Chloe and Quinn Michalec, James Jr. (Rilee) Fish, Mackenzie (Blake) Taylor, Ashley (Scott) Beighley and Aaron Fish; sisters Jerrie (Darryl) Mullins, Bobbie (Larry) Hamilton and Dottie (David) Jenkins; sister-in-law Bonnie Fish; 8 great-grandchildren; 13 nieces and nephews; several cousins; special friends Bob Swisher, Gary Dannemiller, Joe Cincurak, Doug Bender, Jim (Jane) Minton, Serge "Frenchy" Derosiers and Rex; and a multitude of friends in Ohio, Kentucky and Florida.
Jim retired after 37 years of service from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, where he worked as the Manager in Payroll Operations. He received the Spirit Award for the Finance Division during his tenure, and ran the United Way Campaign.
He loved sports, coaching Little League and serving as the Commissioner of the Goodyear Heights Hot Stove League for years. Jim enjoyed bowling and golf, and was active in Indian Guides, The Boy Scouts of America and Elks Lodge 2693 in Homossassa, FL. He loved vacationing every year with his family, and their weekend camping trips.
Per Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. A brief memorial service will be held at Mogadore Baptist Church, 3603 Carper St. Akron, OH 44312 on Saturday, September 3, at 11:00 a.m., with a celebration of life to follow from 11:30 until 4:00 p.m. A second celebration of life will take place on Sunday, October 9 at Elks Lodge 2693, 7890 W. Grover Cleveland Blvd, Homosassa, FL 34446, from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elks Lodge 2693. To leave a message for Jim's family, please scroll below.
