Charleen Assenti

Charleen (Castelli) Assenti, age 93, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. She was born in Sicily on May 5, 1920 before coming to the USA in 1952 and settling in Akron, where she lived the rest of her life. She was a member of Saint Sebastian's Church and loved crocheting afghans for all of her family and friends.

Charleen is survived by son Mike (Rosemary) Castelli, daughters; Lilla (late Bill) Wheeler, Francey (Denny) Orban and Anita (Frank) Dujanovic, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Friends may call 10:00 am - 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon following visitation with Pastor Mike Castelli, grandson, officiating. Final resting place will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service, c/o Akron General Foundation, 3358 Ridgewood Rd, Akron, OH 44333.
