Charles Thomas Ball, "Tom", age 70 of Tallmadge, Ohio, died at Select Specialty Hospital in Akron on Friday, April 15, 2016.
He was born on May 18, 1945 in New Brunswick, NJ, the son of the late Clem and Helen Matyi Ball.
Tom was an honorably discharged US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, being stationed in Germany. He traveled the world as a truck driver and retired in 2008.
Survivors include his daughter, Nina A. (Jason) O'Connell of McKinney, TX; his grandson, Cillian O'Connell; his companion of twenty years, Dee Shew, and her daughter, Danielle Shew; his siblings, David Ball, Susan Hurd, Judy Tlivelich, Gary Ball, Nancy D'Amico, James Ball, Marilyn Ballou, and Sharon Kubeck.
Several nieces and nephews also survive. He also leaves his dogs, Maggie Mae, and Lena.
Other than his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Varga.
There will not be any services or calling hours and cremation will take place.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local food banks.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron.
