Charles C. Canterbury, Jr.

Charles "Chuck" Canterbury passed away on January 29, 2024 at the age of 77. He was born in Charleston, WV on September 4, 1946 to the late Charles and Lenora Canterbury. After graduating from Herbert Hoover High School in 1964, he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served from 1968-1974. He married the love of his life, Annie Smith in July of 1971. They moved to Akron, Ohio where he began an apprenticeship at Goodyear as a machinist. He worked many faithful years there until his retirement in 2009. He was an active hunter, fisherman and family man. He loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Annie; parents; brother, Steve Canterbury; and many friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Christopher Canterbury, Jonathan (Jenifer) Canterbury and Jamie (Ben) Kinney; grandchildren, Devin (Shaelyn), Bryan, Joseph, Nathan, Kaitlyn, Braden, Gabriella, Gavin; great-grandson, Kolby; loyal companion, Cody; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home.
