Charles Scott Dawson, "Scott", age 64 of Akron, Ohio, died on July 22, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center.
He was born on March 6, 1955 in Akron, the son of Clara Jean (nee Brown) of Akron, and the late Edward G. Dawson.
Scott graduated from Central Hower High School in 1973. He was a carpenter and a "Jack of all trades". He could do just about anything. Scott loved to work with his hands and build things.
He was an honorably discharged US Navy Veteran.
In addition to his mother, Clara Jean (nee Brown) Dennis, other survivors include his loving wife, the former Laura Shinn, whom he married on November 4, 1985; his wife's children, Rebecca Conner and Jerry Conner II; grandchildren, Kelia, Mitchell, Joshua, Connor and Lauraleigh Holley. Also surviving is his sister, Pamela (Douglas "Doug") Bender and his nephew, Patrick "Pat" Dawson.
Other than his father, Scott was preceded in death by one brother, Michael "Mike" Dawson, and his step-father, James Dennis.
Funeral services were entrusted to the care of Newcomer-Akron.
Burial took place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
