Charles "Chuck," F. Frye, 81, of Akron, passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2019 after enjoying a visit with his family the evening before. Known to his family as "Sugar," Chuck was born on March 19, 1938 in Mt. Claire, West Virginia. He followed his siblings to Akron, where he worked in appliance repair for many years. He served in the US Army and National Guard of West Virginia. In his spare time, Chuck loved fishing at Lake Erie, coon hunting, and going to yard sales.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Ethel Baldwin, James Frye, Clyde Frye, and Alice Workman; and brother-in-law, Paul Glaspell.
Left to cherish Chuck's memory are his wife of over 50 years, Faye Frye; children, Charles (Nancy) Frye, and Vickie Frye, of Florida; brother, Herman (Dixie) Frye; sister, Faye Glaspell; grandchildren, Carolyn Sue Frye (James), and Janelle Staats of Mississippi; great-grandchild, Kaden Gallardo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are welcome to visit on Friday March 29, 2019 from 10-11am at The Chapel Main Campus 135 Fir Hill, Akron, OH 44304. A funeral service will take place at 11am. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
