Charles Anthony Heim
Charles Anthony Heim, 65, of Akron, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on February 22, 2007. Charles was born November 22, 1941 in Barberton and lived his whole life in the area. He served in the U.S. Army for nine years during the Vietnam Conflict, earning the rank of staff sergeant. He retired from the Akron Police Force Detective Bureau in 1990 and was currently employed as a security guard at Akron Children's Hospital. In his free time, Charles was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed antique car shows. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Helen Heim. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Charlene "Cheri" Heim; children, Tina (Scott) O'Neil, Shelly "Sam" (Harry) Drew, Tami (Patrick) Dickson, Michael (Tessie) Blemenschutz, and Michelle Pfeiffer; brother, Jimmy Heim; twelve grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
