Charles Howard Bostick "Jack"
Charles Howard Bostick, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on April 8, 2012. He was born in Decherd, Tennessee on April 15, 1932 to the late Arthur B. and Catherine S. Bostick. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Barton DD-722 during the Korean War. Jack retired from Acme after 40 years as a store manager. After moving to Florida in 1987, Jack worked for Manatee County Schools for 10 years.
Jack taught his children many things including how to properly wash and wax a car, polish a pair of shoes, and to be a generous tipper. He loved Tennessee, new cars, and a good game of euchre.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Thomas Douglas Bostick and Catherine Faye Williams; dear brothers-in-law, Carl Williams and Hosia Cline.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Kay Lynn (William) Staudt, Gregg (Lynn) Bostick, and Kimberley (Edward) Mann with whom he resided, and Larry Bostick; siblings, Jim (Maggie) Bostick, Polly Bostick, and Gleena Cline; grandchildren, Derek (Amber) Bostick, Chad (Gwendolyn) Carter, Andrea (Will) Nelson, and Ryan Carter; great-grandchildren, Madison Paige Carter, Jaxson Bostick, and Hayden Aleshire; beloved nieces and nephews.
Per Jack's request, there will be no services. Private inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
