Charles J. "Chuck" Valent 10/24/1955
Chuck passed away unexpectedly on August 1, 2021.
Chuck was a 1974 graduate of Springfield High School and lifetime township resident. He spent his career in construction advancing to Project Superintendent on several interesting projects across Ohio and the US. Chuck loved to find the humor in life and was often the first to crack a joke or witty comment, whether appropriate or not.
His true passion was for anything outdoors, especially spending time at his "farm." He was at his happiest driving his tractor, riding 4 wheelers, hunting, shooting and just about anything else on his piece of ground. His love for hunting, fishing, and the outdoors lives on in those he taught the greater value of these simple pleasures.
He was proceeded in death of both of his parents Joseph J. Valent and Ruth Valent, as well as his sister Lynda Valent. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Kathleen Valent and their son Joseph J. Valent II (Christie) and daughter Jennifer Valent and granddaughter Lauren Valent (Joe & Christie). "Pops" was a proud and loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road in Akron.
In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to the American Liver Foundation in Chuck's honor.
