Charles Franklin King, 86, of Tallmadge, passed away on August 23, 2023. He was born in Richwood, WV on April 30, 1937 to the late Walter and Beulah {Case} King.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Charlotte (Thomas) Hager, brother Bernard King, sisters-in-law Mary Evans and Kay Euler.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Erma; 3 daughters Debra King, Cheryl Penov and Kimberly White; 5 grandchildren Angela (Dylan) Ellis, Jennifer (Jereme) Monson, Julia (Sean) Jendry, Matthew (Amanda) Penov, Colin (Alyssa) Penov; 14 great-grandchildren Haley and Cade Ellis, David, Joshua and Michael Monson, Ariana and Declan Jendry, Kaison, Briggley, Evelynn and Atlas Penov, Cavin, Alana and Kallen Penov; sister-in-law Barbara (Eddie) Johnson; many nieces & nephews and 2 very special friends, Jared and Sofia.
Charles graduated from Richwood High School in 1956, and then retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber in 1999, after 40 years of service. He was a faithful member of The Southeast Church of Christ in Mogadore.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 11:00 am until the funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m. with Evangelist Vernon Teagarden officiating.
