Charles L. Brooks
Charles L. Brooks, 81, of Cuyahoga Falls, passed away on March 4, 2013 after an extended illness. He was born in Gadsden, Alabama on January 22, 1932 to the late John Thomas and Lydia Brooks. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Charlie was employed at Republic Steel in Gadsden, Alabama before transferring to Cleveland where he retired from LTV Steel. After retirement, he went on to work at Carter Lumber. In his free time, Charlie enjoyed traveling to casinos, baseball, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Brooks and brother, Billy Tom Brooks. He will be deeply missed by his children, Pamela (Stan) Marquis-Miller, Jeff (Sandy) Brooks, and Angela Brooks; grandchildren, Dan (RuthAnn) Brooks, Jennifer (Jeremy) Nolan; great-grandsons, Eric and Jacob Brooks; sister, Margaret Mitchell; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 7 from 5-7 followed by a 7:00 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. A procession will form at the funeral home on Friday at 12:30 p.m. for a 1:30 p.m. committal service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
