Charles J. Marks, 85, passed away February 8, 2008 at his residence. He was born April 23, 1922 to the late George and Irene (Guthier) Marks. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Ravenna, OH. Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He retired after 39 years from Goodyear, he then was the owner and operator of Marks Supply. Charles also enjoyed farming in the Randolph area for over 54 years. He was involved with URW Local 2. Charles loved his family with all his heart. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Margaret, Vera, and Beatrice; brother, Paul; and grandsons, Terry and Charles. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, June Marks; daughters, Irene (Dennis) Alber of Medina, Paula (Keith) Moore of Akron; sons, Robert (Joyce) Marks of Hartville, George (Beverly) Marks of Akron; grandchildren, Nicole, Gregory, Benjamin, Samuel, Gina, and Joseph, 6 great-grandchildren; sisters Elizabeth Kosier of Akron and Helen (John) Merold of Akron. Friends and relatives may call Monday, February 11 from 7-9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd, Akron. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 11a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, Ravenna with Rev. Carol Evans officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Leukemia Foundation.
