Charles K. McCune
Charles K. McCune, 80, passed away on October 31, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Charley was born in Pennsylvania but lived most of his life in the Fairlawn and Stow area. Mr. McCune attended University of Pennsylvania before serving with the US Navy during World War II. He was a truck driver for Consolidated Freight Trucking before becoming a salesman for Nationwide Insurance Co. where he retired in 1993. Mr. McCune was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Martha McCune and stepson, Eddie Kleinwechter. He leaves his loving wife of 36 years, Winnie McCune of Hartville and daughter, Karen Bickle of Akron. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Patricia Sandy of Akron, Sue Phillips of Tallmadge, and Donna Sandy of Akron. Charley also leaves 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, including the triplets, Ethan, Kennedy, and Demi Kinnan of Orville, who will miss "Grandpa Charley". The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at Altercare Nursing Center of Hartville for their kindness and care of Charley during the past year. The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 6 from 12 -1 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., followed by a 2 p.m. graveside service at Ohio Western Reserve.
