Charles "Bob" Robert Brownfield, 78, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2012. He was born in Guernsey County on August 1, 1933 to the late Elza and Lillian Brownfield. He was a long time member of the Akron Baptist Temple. Bob was employed by the Summit County Home for 4 years; Supervisor of the Bread Dept. of Lawson's Milk Company for 24 years; and Charter bus driver for Crossroads Bus Company for 32 years.
Charles is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sue Ann; daughters, Crystal (Glenn) McCoy and Cathy (David) Shanlian; grandchildren, Tiffany (Eric) Yehle, Tracee McCoy, Leah (Matt) Hofstetter, Nick (Jenn) McCoy and Matthew (Maria) Shanlian; great-grandchildren, Isabell, Olivia, Bailey and Ella; special relatives, Walter and Toby Worthy, Cindy Riley; sister, Diane (John) Stephens; best friends, Bob and Pat Dennison.
Along with the love of his life, Sue, he enjoyed spending time with family and driving his bus.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 5, from 5-8 PM at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 6 at 11 AM with Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. A private family burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
Family suggests memorials be made to the Golden Agers of the Akron Baptist Temple or Summa of Hospice.
