Charles R. Jarvis, 79, of Tallmadge, passed away August 18, 2002 at Akron City Hospital. He was born September 25, 1922 in Chloe, West Virginia to the late Earley & Aurelia (West) Jarvis. Charles was a veteran of WWII, having served in the U.S. Army with the 82nd Airborne and was a molder for East Akron Casting. He was a life member of DAV, a member of American Legion Post 255, a member of the Tallmadge Auxiliary Police and an assistant Scout leader where he exercised his love of fishing and camping. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Orma (Ash) Jarvis, of Tallmadge; daughters, Susan Pritt and Doris Forsyth, both of Cuyahoga Falls; sons, Charles E. , of Tallmadge, Jennings (Betty), of Tallmadge, Fred (Laura), of Cuyahoga Falls and Frank (Susan), of Tallmadge; brother, Henry (Pearl), of New York; half-brothers, Luther (Phyllis) and Robert (Joyce), both of Charleston, West Virginia; half-sister, Mary Edwards, of Charleston, West Virginia; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
