Charles Vincent Romano Jr.

Charles Vincent Romano Jr., 78, passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2022. He was born in Oak Park, Illinois on September 23, 1943 to the late Charles Sr. and Sophie Romano. Chuck grew up in Des Plaines and spent 60 years running the family restaurant, Romano's. After retiring in 2018, Chuck moved to Akron, Ohio to be close to his children and grandchildren. His favorite pastimes were fishing, sports, and being Papa to his beloved grandchildren. Chuck enjoyed attending the school events and games of his grandchildren as well as taking them on weekly trips to Walgreens. Chuck was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be truly missed by everyone he knew.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Joseph.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda; children Charles "Chuck" Romano III (Kristie) and Tracy Philabaun (Todd); grandchildren, Dominick and Olivia Romano, Emilia, Parker, and Samantha Philabaun; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Tom Helfers; and many friends.
Chuck's life will be celebrated privately in Hayward, Wisconsin which was one of his favorite places to visit.
