Charles E. Sharp Sr. of Mogadore, Ohio, died in Akron, Ohio on October 2, 2021 at the age of 68. He was born in Troy, Ohio on February 8, 1953 to Harvey and Nancy (Hefflinger) Sharp. He was a hardworking man who loved his family very dearly. He was a proud veteran, having served in the Air Force, Army National Guard, and the Army Reserves. After an honorable discharge, he became a truck driver, working for several companies over the years. Most notably, Gaylord Trucking, LLC. He had a deep love for classic cars, plastic models, and spending time with his family. He was also a kind-hearted, loving, and caring man who loved and found great enjoyment in helping out those in need.
Surviving Charles are his loving wife of 22 years, Cynthia, his sister-in-law, Rebecca Allen, his brothers-in-law, David Allen and Greg Allen, his sisters, Patsy Dauin, and Julia Phillips, his brothers, Michael Swartz, William Swartz, Andy Swartz, Bob Swartz, his children, Yvette, Pollyanna, TJ (Terri), Kevin (Emily), Charles Jr. (Sue), Peter (Catelyn), Joshua, Brian, and Shelby (Travis), as well as 30 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. All of whom will miss him dearly.
Charles was preceded in death not only by his parents, Harvey and Nancy (Hefflinger) Sharp, and his step-father, Harold Swartz, but also his father-in-law, Keith Allen, his mother-in-law, Patricia Steely, brothers, Bernard Dave Sharp and Kenny Swartz, his eldest daughter, Colleen Sharp, who was also affectionately known as Dinky, his son, Jeffery, and 2 of his grandchildren.
Per his wishes, Charles has been cremated. The family will have a private gathering to honor the life and memory of Charles at a later date. Those who wish, may make a donation in Charles name to one of the following charities listed in honor of his status as a US veteran:
AMVETS, USA Cares, Air Force Aid Society, Homes for Our Troops, and Wounded Warrior Project.
