Charles V. "Charlie" Sickels passed away on January 4, 2024 at the age of 85. He was born to the late John and Alta Sickels on November 1, 1938. Charlie was drafted into the United States Navy where he served from 1956-1959. He was a proud Korean War Veteran. Charlie loved Nascar racing and working on cars, especially Fords. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, John C. Sickels; brothers, Richard, James and Marion Sickels; and sisters, Patricia Obermiller and Helen Sickels.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Claudette Sickels; children, Christine (Mike) Yusko, Liz (Mike) Valeri and John Michalski; grandchildren, Kevin Mollica, Kayla (Nick) Benedix, Caroline Valeri, Joey Valeri, Abby Michalski and Ben Michalski; great-granddaughter, Austyn Benedix; brother, John Sickels; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 12pm. Pastor Steve Neumeyer will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery.
