Charles C. Tennant, 98, of Akron, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022. He was born in Jackson, Ohio on November 10, 1924 to the late Ross and Laura {Love} Tennant.
Charles was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. Following his honorable discharge, Charles threw himself into his career as a carpenter, and raising his family. He taught his children the value of hard work, and to do things right the first time. Charles was a kind, level-headed man, and had a special soft spot for his dogs. He was a "chocoholic," and had a sweet tooth for candy, Little Debbie goodies and especially ice cream! Charles loved taking cruises, and going on rides in his brother's plane. He was a perfectionist, especially when it came to his carpentry skills, which were self-taught. Charles built beautiful homes with hand-done cabinetry, and he passed some of his many skills to his own son. For all his skills and talents, the one his children remember most fondly was his talent for being a father.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children Dorothy Tennant, wife Kim Tennant, wife Clodine Tennant, sister, Lena Wolf, brothers Denver Bob and Richard Tennant, son-in-law Lester Bishop and granddaughter Sherrie Tennant.
Charles will always be loved by his son Charles E. (Barb) Tennant Sr.; daughters, Sandra Bishop and Patricia (John) Istenes; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
