Charles "Chuck" E. Villers, Sr.

Charles "Chuck" E. Villers, 77, of Akron, passed away April 6, 2006. Chuck will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his helpful nature. Chuck never met a stranger and loved to tell stories. One of his favorite past times was driving along Rte 76, talking on his CB radio. Chuck served in the Merchant Marines and later retired from Goodyear after 43 years of service. He was involved in numerous organizations, including the American Legion Post 281, the FOP Lodge 7, the Hungarian Club, the Holy Name Society, the Sacred Heart Society, and St. Vincent's. He was a member of Annunciation Church, where he volunteered at the soup kitchen and bingo. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Marcie; son, Chuck, Jr.; parents, John and Mattie; brothers, Gene, Bill, Leonard, and Harold; sisters, Mary Ellen, Mart, Kate, and Sis; and parents-in-law, Thomas and Louise. He is survived by his grateful family who loved him very much: daughters, Pam (Greg) Clemons, Marsha McNatt, Missy Villers, and Sal Corathers; sisters, Emma (William) Rundel, Donna Villers, and Linda "Tops" (Tom) Richardson; brothers, Donald and Bob Villers; grandchildren, Nick Simich, Jason (Kristi) Simich, Monica McNatt, and Greg Clemons, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Trevor Simich; nephews, Tom (Gin) Richardson and C.J. (Kimmie) Richardson; many other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hospice of Summa for all the compassion and care given to Chuck. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Annunciation Church. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
