Charles Homer Welsh
Charles Homer Welsh, 76, of Tallmadge, died on Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at home, after a lengthy illness. He was born September 10, 1929 in Canton, Ohio and lived most of his life in Massillon and New Philadelphia area. Charles was retired owner and manager of Credit Bureau of New Philadelphia and Dover. Mr. Welsh was a past member of the New Philadelphia Jaycees and Past Chairman of Jaycees Soap Box Derby. He especially enjoyed golf and viewing golf tournaments. He served in the United States Air Force. Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Joyce Marshall; son, Steven Welsh of Plano, Texas; daughter, Amy Cocklin of Bangor, Maine; step-daughter, Teresa Murzin; brother, Howard Welsh of Massillon; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Welsh; mother, Olive Welsh; sister, Marilynn Saunders; and brother, James Welsh. Funeral services will be held Saturday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Kent Welsh, nephew of Mr. Welsh officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the V.A. of Akron Outpatient Home-Based Primary Care Division, 55 W. Waterloo Rd., Akron OH 44319 Online condolences may be sent to www.NewcomerFamily.com
