Charles F. Withrow
Charles F. Withrow, 85, of Akron, passed away January 1, 2005. He was born March 31, 1919 in Lochgelly, WV to the late Russell I. & Margaret E. (Wood) Withrow. He was a loving father and grandfather. Charles retired from Goodyear after 32 years of service. He was a WWII Army Veteran who was wounded in battle and received a Purple Heart. Charles enjoyed his C.B. radio handle Bobcat. The Withrows had celebrated 60 years of marriage on Feburary 27 prior to his wifes passing in April. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; son, Dennis James; brother, Carlos I.; sister, Margaret McMillion. He leaves behind his daughters, Patricia (Richard) Merhaut, Betty Pirogowicz & Howard Watson; sons Harold (Sandra) Withrow, Kyle Withrow; sisters, Rose, Edith, Alice; brothers, Jimmy & Bobby; uncle, Jimmy; 12 grandchildren including Angela Thomann who provided special care for him ; 10 great-grandchildren; good friend and caregiver Jami. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park with Mogadore VFW 8487 providing military honors.
