Cheryl J. Plemons (Kennedy), 73, passed peacefully surrounded by her family on July 26, 2018 in Akron, Ohio.
Cheryl was born on September 16, 1944 in Akron, Ohio to the late Wilburn and Imogene Brown. It was there that she worked for B&O Railroad as a telephone operator, married, and started her family.
In the mid-1980's, Cheryl and her husband, Bob, made Madisonville, Tennessee their home. She then worked as a substitute teacher and clerk at the C&R Market, where she was known by all of Madisonville. Cheryl was a very generous and good-hearted person who dearly loved her family, neighbors, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Kennedy.
Cheryl will be deeply missed by her children, Tracie (Joseph) Epner, Jodi (Tracy) Watson-Kyser, Brett (Vicki) Kennedy; grandchildren, Emily Watson, Erica (Anthony) Pirc, Sarah Watson, Rebecca (Nick) Pirc, Kadie Watson, Hayley and Jake Landers; great-grandchildren, Madison, Mckinlee, Akerra, Keiana, and Penelope; Uncle C.R. (Naomi) White; cousin and best friend, Cherry Oliver, as well as many other cousins.
Friends and family are welcome to Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron to visit on Monday from 5pm to 6pm. A memorial service will take place at 6pm.
An additional memorial service will take place at Big Creek Baptist Church in Madisonville, Tennessee on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. with visitation for one hour prior. Burial will follow memorial service at Big Creek Baptist Cemetery.
