Chester Wade Decker, "Chet", age 78, of Akron, Ohio, died on November 13, 2021 at his home.
He was born on March 8, 1943 in Akron, the son of the late Hilbert and Eileen (nee Dalton) Decker.
Chet was a kind soul who worked at Tower 80 in Highland Square as a doorman befriending many of its residents. He was also an outreach minister who helped many by visiting, befriending and guiding them to Christ, this included the homeless, inmates, Alzheimer's patients and nursing home residents.
Dad was stubborn to the core, but always a good sport while we poked fun at his fashion sense and grammar. He enjoyed family get together if dessert was provided.
He leaves behind his wife and companion, Pammi; his ex-wife, Regina; his children, Wendy, Madison, Kitty and Jennifer; 11 grandchildren; many siblings; good friend-Joe; and pets, snickers and sunshine.
Mr. Decker will be cremated and the family will have a memorial service at a later date.
