Chester Glenn Mounts, 66, of Akron, passed away August 21, 2011. He was born on January 5, 1945 in Gilbert, West Virginia. Chester proudly served in the U.S. Army and later retired from LTV Steel. He was a member of The Chapel and the Vietnam Veterans of America Akicita Oyate Chapter 900 in Akron and he was a 32nd degree Mason. Chester was a longtime friend of Bill W. and G.A. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie Mounts, Jr., and Mordechai and Essie Mounts; and brother, Mitchell. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Janet; son, Paul (Nadine) Mounts of Bingen, Germany; daughter, Kimberly Kantorowski; sisters, Linda (Mark) and Jennifer (Danny) and brothers, Ronnie (April), Lanny David (Reba), and Skip; niece, Kathleen Crawford; mother-in-law, Jane Woodhall; brother-in-law, Harold Woodhall and Jan Mooneyham of Venice, FL; longtime friend, Danny Kantorowski; many relatives in Gilbert, WV; and many friends from Cleveland, Parma, and Akron as well as the staff and residents at Summit Villa. He will be missed by many friends. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 followed by an 8 p.m. funeral service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chester G. Mounts Memorial Fund at any First Merit Bank.
