Clara Lucile Roach
Clara Lucile Roach, 93, of Akron, passed away October 17, 2005 at Chambrel at Montrose. She was born April 30, 1912 in Anniston, Alabama to the late John & Mollie Rodgers and lived most of her life in Akron. Clara loved her home and gardening, especially flower and particularly roses. She was known for her love of cooking, always preparing 5 vegetables and corn bread was a specialty of hers. Clara was a hard worker all her life and retired from B.F. Goodrich with over 30 years of service. She was kind to everyone and Clara was loved by all. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Estill Roach; sisters, Lena Annala, Ada Barnett and Bertha Rodgers; brother, Val Rodgers. Clara is survived by her daughters, Mary Ruth (David) Boies of E. Aurora NY, Betty (Ernest) Lindroth of Akron; grandchildren, Deborah, Dan and Elizabeth Boies; brother, Robert (Dora) Rodgers of Moundville AL; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dallas Billington and Dr. Charles Billington officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
