Clara Ann Spindler, age 90, passed away on December 28, 2024. She was born in Akron on September 17, 1934 to the late James and Mary Louise Withrow. She was life-long resident of Akron, graduating from Ellet High School class of 1952. Clara married Loren Spindler in 1954, who preceded her in death in 1969. She was an LPN at Akron City Hospital for 28 years. Clara enjoyed traveling the U.S. She had a remarkable talent for crafting. She delighted in making beautiful cards, intricate doll dresses, and cozy knit blankets. Her handiwork was cherished by all who received it, and her creativity knew no bounds. During the holidays, she would fill the house with the sweet aroma of her baked goods, creating traditions and memories that will be treasured forever.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her children Loreen (Ralph) Palumbo, Nora (Mike Myers) Phillips, Todd (Jamie) Spindler; grandchildren Monica (Aaron) Stanley, Adam (Lisa) Phillips, Jennifer Myers, Ethan Spindler; great-grandchildren Connor, Carter, Gavin, Kayla, Dylan, and Matthew; sister Jane Hargrove; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings Virginia Miller, Johnnie Withrow, Charles Withrow, Robert Withrow, Christina Kurowski, and James Withrow.
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:30-12:30 prior to the service also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
