Clarence E. Blake, 79, of Akron, passed away May 27, 2006 at Pebble Creek Nursing Home. He was born November 13, 1926 in Akron, Ohio. Clarence was a veteran of the U. S. Army and later worked as a supervisor with the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple, the Masonic Lodge and the Grotto. He is preceded in death by his brother, Harold Blake. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Pearl (Kyer) Blake; sons, Kenneth (Jeanne) and Richard (Carole); grandchildren, Kenny, Melissa, Keith and Richard; and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Wednesday from at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. Wednesday until the service begins. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family.
