Clarence K. Danner
Clarence K. Danner, 84, of Mogadore, passed away February 22, 2010. He was born in Hillham, Tennessee on February 18, 1926 to the late George W. and Lillian M. Danner. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the World War II Victory Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal with 3 bronze stars. He joined Goodyear in 1943, spending his early years with the company as a tire builder in Plant 1. He was also a delegate from Local Union 2 to the Ohio AFL-CIO convention. He held a Division Chairman position in Local Union 2 since 1963, serving over 45 years with Goodyear. Clarence was a member of the Masonic organization for over 50 years, attaining the 32nd degree. He was president of the Goodyear Retirees Club for over 10 years. He was an active member of Community Baptist Church in Springfield. Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Hazel R. Danner; sons, Jerry S. Danner of Green, Ohio and Charles K. (Sharon) Danner of Austin, Arkansas; grandchildren, Nicole and Tracy Danner as well as Christen (Floyd) Carrethers, Billie Branscum; and great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
