Clarence R. McVey, Jr. "R.C." "T-Bone"
Clarence R. McVey, Jr., 78, of Akron, passed away December 17, 2007. Clarence was born March 16, 1929 in Corbin, Kentucky and lived most of his life in Akron. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Akron Brick and Block after over 30 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, visiting with friends and family, and telling old stories. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella. Clarence will be deeply missed by his children, Lloyd (Pam) McVey, Deborah Cernava, and Denise (David) Batten; brothers, Harold and Lloyd McVey; sisters, Wanda Webb and Sandra Ludwig; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by many friends and neighbors. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 5-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care Center.
