Clarice J. Nelson

Clarice J. Nelson, 93, passed away peacefully at home March 23, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Murray City, OH to William and Florence Parks, she resided in the Akron, OH area all of her life. She retired from May Company with 20 years of service. An active person her entire life, Clarice enjoyed her dogs and cats, bowling, tennis, gardening, pottery, going to the ocean and spending time with her family. She belonged to the Springfield Township Women's Club and was currently active in the Canton Museum/Fine Arts, Canton Potters Guild, Massillon Museum and Canton Afternoon Garden Club and Cultural Center.

In addition to her parents, Clarice was preceded in death by sons, Gene Nelson, John Nelson; siblings, Louise, Helena, William. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 76 years, John; daughter, Connie Nelson; grandchildren, Brad, Jennifer, Heidi, Billy; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; siblings, Janet Richards, Paul (Sandy) Parks; many nieces, nephews and lots of friends.

The family would like to thank everyone at Summa Health, most especially Dr. Grace Ayafor, also Dr. David Jackson and his staff at South Central Family Physicians for their loving care of Clarice.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal services. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Clarice's name to the Canton Afternoon Garden Club.
