Claudia Irene Labbe

Claudia Irene Labbe, age 72, of Akron, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2022.
She was born on February 22, 1950 in Barberton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harold and Olivia (nee Grunning) Kirkpatrick.
Claudia was a devout and active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Norton, where she was a member of the Lady's Aid Society, Helping Hands, the LWML and the Fellowship Club. Claudia also attended weekly Bible study and was a custodian for the church.
She worked and retired from Akron City School District as a custodian.
Claudia was a member of the quilt group KISS; she collected angels and liked to read. She enjoyed taking small jaunts to Hocking Hills and Brandywine Falls. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Labbe, whom she married on May 14, 2011; her daughters, Karen (Robert "Joe") Dailyde and Paula Carr; her grandchildren, Erika George, Austin Dailyde and Gavin Carr; her great-grandson, Parker; and her brother-in-law, Paul Mattle.
Other than her parents, Claudia was preceded in death by her sister, Dorien Mattle.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 6, 2023 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 5451 South Cleveland-Massillon Road, Norton, Ohio 44203, where family and friends may gather one hour prior to the service. Pastor Curtis Stephens will celebrate Claudia's life.
Family and friends may also visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Thursday, January 5, 2023 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Burial will take place in Greenwood Cemetery, Mogadore, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Claudia's memory.
