Cletus Leon Thomas, 82, passed away on November 21, 2024. He was born on August 24, 1942 the son of the late Stanley and Manie Pearl Thomas of Summerville, WV. Leon proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the VFW of Mogadore and the American Legion of Pinellas Park, FL. Leon retired after 35 years of dedicated service from W.G. Lockhart. He enjoyed being the bass player of the Victory Gospel Quartet. He was a man of faith and was a member of Goodyear Heights Church of the Nazarene. Leon was an avid golfer, moving from Akron to Florida to enjoy more time on the golf course. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, laughter, and his love of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law Christine Thomas; and son Gary Treadway.
Leon is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia "Pat" Thomas; children Diana (Kevin) Staten, Donald (Carla) Thomas, David Thomas, and June (Paul) Falcon; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Paul (Robin) Thomas; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, Dec. 4th from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 12:00pm. with Donald Thomas officiating.
