Clifford L. Arthurs
Clifford L. Arthurs, 81 years old, passed away November 4, 2009, with his family at his side. He was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania and lived in Akron for 54 years. He served in the U.S. Army for two years at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He retired after 30 years service at Wonder Bread Bakery on March 1, 1991. He was loved by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and will be missed by all who knew him. Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, James and Minerva Arthurs. He is survived by his children, James (Nancy) Arthurs, Lelia Wortman, Dan Arthurs, Skip (Karen) Arthurs, Cheryl Gerhold, all of Akron; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Monday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where prayers will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge, Father John Hengle officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park with military honors provided by Mogadore VFW 8487.
