Clifford Andrew Weese, 82, was called home on October 13, 2023.
Cliff is survived by his beautiful bride, Jean Weese of 59 years, his brother Sterling (Shelby) Weese, his two daughters Gina (Jim) Heitzenrater and Kelly Weese, his grandchildren Amber (Chad) Hamilton and Austin Heitzenrater, his pride and joy, great grandbabies, Braxton and Brody Hamilton, along with many nieces and nephews.
Cliff was born in Beverly, W.V. on December 4, 1940. He and his brother Sterling were raised by his grandmother, Mabel Weese. Cliff served his country in the Navy from 1959 to1963. He enjoyed shooting archery with his son-in-law Jim, fishing and hunting in West Virginia, and camping with his family. He was a sports fanatic and especially enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians (or "Onions" according to him). Cliff loved his special birthday bingo games with his daughter Gina and his Saturday breakfast dates with his daughter Kelly. He enjoyed Wednesday night dinners and watching shark week with Chad and Amber as well as card games and movie outings with Austin. Although he enjoyed his time with his wife, daughters, son-in-law, and grandchildren, his biggest smiles came when he was around his great-grandsons Braxton and Brody.
Those of you that knew Cliff can take comfort in knowing that he is in Heaven telling Jesus the big toe joke, playing bingo, and eating some deer steak. Though we have no doubt that he will be spending much of his free time watching over all those whose lives he touched during his time on Earth. We hope that whenever you're going about your day, you use some of the many one-liner responses he was famous for, and think of him fondly. We know we will be. More than that, we hope that we all are able to adopt a fraction of his jovial outlook on life and the joy that he brought to ours.
Visitation will be held Thursday (October 19th) from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Road, Akron, OH 44305 where services will be held 12:00 pm with Pastor Michael Nichols and Art McMahon officiating.
In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice or a charitable organization (Cliff would have chosen the Veterans Affairs (V.A.) or wounded warriors).
