Clyde D. Stephens, 79, of Springfield Township, passed away June 2, 2007 at Essex Health Care of Tallmadge. He was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and attended Hotchkiss Elementary School and East High School. Clyde retired from General Tire as an Executive Chauffeur. He had is own Chauffeur business for 15 years serving all major Rubber Companies. Clyde was a wonderful father and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. "We love you!" He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Mable Stephens; father, Henry Newton Stephens; son, Charles Franklin Stephens; brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Joan Stephens; brothers-in-law, Louis Russo and Charles Samie. Clyde is survived by his daughter, Rose Mary McDade (Kenny); son, David Lee Stephens and daughter-in-law, Patty Stephens; grandchildren, Ivy, Benjamin, Charles and Samantha Stephens; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Farmer, Maxine Samie and Helen Russo; 4 nephews; and 7 nieces. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Shaub officiating.
