Clyde W. Henry, age 71, was called home by Jesus suddenly on September 26, 2006 while on his way to his favorite outing, eating out. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked at Goodyear for 36 years and then volunteered at Salvation Army and City Hospital. No longer needing his earthly body, he lives on in others through his donations to Life Banc. Clyde was a quiet, gentle man who always took care of his family. He was so pleased to have recently met and become an active part of his biological family in West Virginia. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters, from both his adoptive and biological families. Left to rejoice in knowing him is his wife of nearly 48 years, Pat; son and family, Dan and Martha Henry and James and Rebecca; daughter and family, Cindy and Ira Keefer and Christy; brother, Ray Henry; sisters-in-law, Mary Henry, Betty Fordyce, and Judy Caughron; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call TODAY from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Friday from 12:30-1:00 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 with Pastor James Gergon officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Clyde's name to the food pantry at Middlebury Chapel, 82 S. Arlington St., Akron, 44306. Online condolences may be sent to www.newcomerfamily.com.
