Connie L Farmer was born on May 25, 1947. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 27, 2008after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Akron, OH and graduated from Ellet High School and The University of Akron. She enjoyed traveling, needlepoint, gardening, and tea with her friends. Connie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was an active member of Ellet Grace Brethren Church where she was a member of the choir, the organist, and a Sunday School teacher. She worked for 23 years as a computer programmer at Lockheed Martin. She will be sorely missed.
Connie is survived by husband Mike; sons Jeffrey Darrah (Lyssa), Jonathan Darrah (Danielle), and Jason Darrah (Jennifer); step-sons David (Natalie), Daniel (Susan), and Douglas (Jennifer); grandchildren Justin and Melissa Frye, Justin, Taylor, Jamie, Erika, Brittany, and McKinley Darrah, and Amber, Jarad, and Aaron Farmer; mother Mildred Carroll; brother Thomas Carroll as well as very special friend Peg Carey. She was preceded in death by father Thomas Carroll; sisters Cheryl Sodergren and Mitzi Boner.
Calling hours will be at Newcomer Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 30 from 4pm to 8pm and a memorial service will be held at Ellet Grace Brethren Church on Wednesday, October 1 at 10am. Interment will follow immediately at Crown Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Ellet Grace Brethren Church.
