Conrad N. Keppler

April 7, 1938 — October 30, 2020

Conrad N. Keppler, 82, of Uniontown, OH, died Friday, October 30, following a brief battle with cancer.

He was born April 7, 1938 at the home of his parents, Edward and Harriet (Voll) Keppler. He was honorably discharged from the Ohio National Guard at the rank of Sergeant E-5 in 1967. "Butch" was fortunate to identify two career choices - one defined by helping and the other by problem solving. He became an Akron firefighter in 1967, retiring in 1994. He also discovered his other passion at Hower Vocational School when he began to learn about drafting. He was employed as a mechanical engineer at Mactac in Stow and then in his "retirement job" at Advanced Poly-Packaging in Akron. He finally started to work part time and eventually retired for good around the time he turned 80.

A gun collector, Harley rider and Corvette owner, our husband and dad played baseball as a teen and enjoyed watching the Indians regularly. He also "enjoyed" being a Browns fan and always liked having a beer and watching Buckeyes football games. He didn't have the patience as a young man to play much golf but followed the pros and television and walked around Firestone for the World Series of Golf/Bridgestone Invitational many years. He also enjoyed watching WWII movies (and Marsha would often poke her head in the room and tell him, "Spoiler. We won!"

He is survived by wife, Marsha; children, Christopher Keppler and Jenny (Perry) Rowley; grandchildren, Michael, Steven and Daniel Keppler; Emma Rowley, Ian Sizemore; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Keppler; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Coletta Keppler; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Jack Longstreth and five nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank many of the people at Summa Health Hospice and Palliative care in addition to neighbors, relatives and friends who supported us through prayer and offers to help in many ways.
