In addition to her father, Connie was preceded in death by her grandparents Robert and Nena Harvey and John Sr. and Pauline Labay; mother-in-law Sharon Lapham; special aunt Babe Davis; and other beloved relatives.
Connie is survived by her loving husband Ron; daughter, Stephanie (Chris) Collins; son Jared (Sarah) Lapham; mother Dottie Labay; siblings Janet Reisig, Stephen "Joe" (Dawn "Missy") Labay Jr. and Jenny (Scott) McElhaney; father-in-law Donald Lapham; favorite uncle Chuck Davis; sister-in-law Debby (Steve) Lapham; numerous grandchildren, including Jacquelyn "Spunky" (Dan) and Emily; cats Blossom, Bindi and Belle; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Connie graduated from Tallmadge High School in 1976, and went on to earn her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Kent State University. She had a quick wit, and an unmatched work ethic.
A paragraph isn't sufficient space to describe Connie's essence or impact on those who had the privilege to know her. Connie took her role as firstborn seriously, feeling the responsibility to be a good example to and defender of her younger siblings, no matter their age. She was raised to have a strong work ethic and to put the needs of her family above her own, especially in regards to job choices until finally perusing the career she had dreamt of by graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2006.
Connie was a quick wit, ready with a remark, at just the right time, often bringing humor to even the most difficult of situations. She learned to be fiercely protective of her family who meant everything to her. But most of all, she loved and loved deeply. This is how she would want you to remember her.
